Flagstaff Community Winter Wonderband 2017 rehearsals start Wednesday, October 18. Winter Band is a much shorter season, which means a smaller commitment than our Summer Band season. Along with the full band, we also will have brass and woodwind ensembles so that we can offer chamber music at our concerts. Rehearsals are at Mt Eldon Middle School on Wednesdays 7-9 PM (see calendar for dates). Winter Wonderband stand fees are $10. Join us!

The band will begin its Summer 2017 rehearsals on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at 7:00 pm in the Mount Elden Middle School band room. All interested musicians are invited to attend. We will have a social gathering with refreshments at the end of practice to get reacquainted with returning band members and to meet new ones. This is our 25th Anniversary Season and we have some exciting things planned. Come join us!

This season we are planning 3 ensembles who will be performing at various venues throughout Flagstaff during the holiday season. The ensembles include: brass ensemble, sax ensemble, and the woodwind ensemble. Rehearsals are at Mt Eldon Middle School on Wednesdays 7-9 PM (see calendar for details). What does the donation money go to?
The money received through donations will be used for everything from purchasing new music to paying our conductor. In the long run, the band would like to purchase instruments so more individuals could play regardless of whether they own an instrument or not.

We are excited to announce the new conductor of the Flagstaff Community Band, Tim McKay. Tim is currently the band and choir director at Mount Elden Middle School. Tim is looking forward to meeting the band and starting rehearsals at the end of March.
As a reminder, the first rehearsal is March 26 from 7-9pm in the Flagstaff High School band room. We can't wait to get everyone back together again and start making music!

We invite any band members who are available to join us on February 26, 2014 at 7pm to attend rehearsal at the Flagstaff High School band room. At this rehearsal we will allow various conductor candidates to demonstrate their conducting abilities/style with the band. Any attendees will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the conductor candidates.

Our former conductor, Rebecca, has chosen to pursue other opportunities this summer and has resigned her position as conductor. The board is currently seeking a new conductor. We will hold interviews at the end of February. We are seeking a person who will continue to improve everyone’s musicianship, and who will also help the band form a cohesive group to improve upon what we already do well and work on the areas we need help with.
If you, or someone you know, may be interested in applying for the conductor position, please email a resume or CV to [email protected]. We will review all qualified applicants and make invitations for interviews with the board.

Start Date: Wednesday, March 26th 2014; then every Wednesday till Labor Day
Time: 7pm to 9pm (come early so we can get started on time)
Location: Flagstaff High School Band Room

#GivingTuesday is on December 3rd, 2013. The focus of this day is to give back to community organizations through donation. The Flagstaff Community Band is participating through our Razoo donation site. We appreciate donations of any amount to help bring music to the Flagstaff, AZ community.
